Itinerary

Day 1 - Saturday
London
Welcome to Britain's vibrant capital - London. On arrival take your high speed rail transfer to the City Centre, from there a short cab ride to your hotel, where the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 2 - Sunday
London
Today is a free day to explore the vibrant and historic City of London. Why not visit some of the world's best Museums, follow in the footsteps of royalty, shop in Soho and end the day in a chic restaurant or a cozy traditional English pub.

Day 3 - Monday
Oxford
Depart London for William Shakespeare's former home town of Stratford-upon-Avon through the Chiltern Hills, pausing on the way for a walking tour of Oxford's famous colleges, in particular Christ Church college. After lunch, we will join student life to enjoy a chauffeured punt on the River Cherwell before visiting the Blenheim Palace, home of the 11th Duke of Marlborough and the birth place of Sir Winston Churchill.

Day 4 - Tuesday
Stratford-upon-Avon
This morning we immerse ourselves in the culture and history of William Shakespeare with a tour of the Bard's birthplace and a visit to Mary Arden's House, home of Shakespeare's mother. We will also have a brief tour of Harvard House, the family home of John Harvard – the founder of Harvard College at Cambridge Massachusetts – and drive by Anne Hathaway' house, the home of William Shakespeare's wife as we make our way to Warwick Castle. This fine castle dates back over 1000 years. We have plenty of time to explore both the castle & this medieval town. Optional evening excursion to a Royal Shakespeare Company performance.

Day 5 - Wednesday
Worcester
This morning we will head onto the "faithful" city of Worcester which played a pivotal role in the English civil wars of the 1642-51. We will visit Worcester Cathedral which dates back over 1000 years and has been a place of prayer and worship since 680 AD. A private viewing of the Cathedral library with its wonderful illuminated medieval manuscripts created by the Benedictine monks has been arranged. In the afternoon we tour Cotswold's villages to Hidcote Manor Gardens, one of the most delightful in England. Then we drive to the nearby village of Chipping Campden for an afternoon cream tea and some free time for shopping.

Day 6 - Thursday
Cotswolds
Today we will drive through the beautiful Cotswolds countryside to Sudeley Castle, the former home of one of King Henry VIII wives and it's award winning gardens. Then it's a leisurely drive through picturesque villages such as the Slaughters and the Swells to Stow-on-the-Wold for some free time. The final highlight of your tour is the Waddesdon Manor, a 16th century style French chateau. We then head back to London.

Tour Ends
This morning after a hearty breakfast it's time to head back home.
